Layla Sleep prides itself on perfecting the way you buy a mattress as well as the mattress itself. While working in his family’s mattress store, founder Akrum Sheikh set out on a mission to make the mattress buying experience more accessible to the average customer. With the help of a savvy web designer named Gregg Dean, they launched Layla Sleep and put their unique spin on the traditional memory foam mattress. Their copper-infused memory foam mattresses keep customers cool and comfortable in bed.
As a direct-to-customer company, Layla conducts its business online and ships its mattresses directly to you. While they specialize in mattresses, Layla Sleep sells everything from memory foam pillows and weighted blankets to bamboo sheets and bed frames. Awarded Best Memory Foam Mattress (2020) by Tuck, and Best Cooling Mattress (2020) by Sleepopolis, Layla may be the answer to your nighttime needs.
Layla Memory Foam
The standard Layla mattress features copper-gel memory foam that conforms to your body for a restful night’s sleep. According to the company, the foam “reacts to increased pressure with a firming response, so it stays soft and huggy overall, but provides ample support around deep compression areas where you need it most.”
At 10 inches tall, the Layla Memory Foam Mattress is easy to move and manipulate, making installation, transportation, and rearrangement simple.
Ranging from twin to king, the Layla Memory Foam Mattress also comes with two Layla Memory Foam Pillows, a full set of microfiber sheets, and a mattress protector.
Layla Hybrid
While the Layla Hybrid still comes fully equipped with its copper-gel memory foam, its middle layer is constructed with a dual-gauge pocketed coil system. These coils offer more bounce and less sink in your mattress and maintain all the cooling capabilities of Layla’s copper-gel memory foam on the top and bottom layers.
The Layla Hybrid’s coils are tuned to a heavier gauge around the mattress’s edge and offer increased edge support for those edge-of-the-mattress sleepers.
The Layla Hybrid also ranges from twin to king and comes with the Layla Memory Foam pillow, microfiber sheets, and mattress protector. You can click here to read SleepMoment’s review of this hybrid mattress.
Which Should You Choose?
Those looking for the hugging feeling while they sleep will enjoy the standard memory foam mattress. With a bit more sink, the full-foam mattress will conform to your body and cradle you in your sleep. However, limited edge support is not ideal for edge-sleepers. For those looking to save money, the standard memory foam mattress will save upwards of 40 percent compared to the hybrid.
While on the pricier side, the Layla Hybrid Mattress will offer superior cooling and overall support due to its blend of memory foam and dual-gauged coils. Larger framed individuals will also react better to the hybrid mattress’s bounce. The hybrid’s multiple layers allow for more airflow and will keep you cool through the night.
Both mattresses come with Layla’s trademark copper-gel-infused memory foam. You can easily flip both to a soft side and firm side. The copper-infused foam will naturally combat viruses and bacteria to keep your mattress smelling fresh and clean.
Layla’s trademark copper-gel-infused memory foam is what sets them apart from their competition. However, Layla’s most unique quality is its flippable mattress. Each side of a Layla mattress is tuned to a different degree of firmness: soft and firm.
With zero being the softest and 10 being the most firm, both the memory foam and hybrid Mattresses are rated 4/10 (soft side) and 7/10 (firm side). The memory foam’s lightweight body makes it incredibly easy to flip and maneuver between sides. The heavier hybrid mattress’s outer covering comes with built-in handles for easy flipping.
Layla’s Memory Foam Mattress cover consists of 66 percent polyester, 30 percent viscose, and four percent poly/lycra, with a ThermoGEL cooling agent. The foam layers, made from their copper-gel infused memory foam, measure at a 12-pound Indentation Load Deflection (ILD) and are considered on the very soft end of the spectrum.
The airflow foam is made of 30-pound ILD tri-zoned SMT polyurethane. The base foam is made of 35-pound ILD polyurethane.
Layla’s Hybrid Mattresses contain all the same copper-gel memory foam components along with 16-gauge edge coils and 14-gauge center coils. The hybrid’s integrated flipping handles are made of thermoplastic polyurethane.
Layla Sleep offers its customers a 120-night trial on all of their mattresses. They’re confident you’ll fall in love with their product, but if not, they’ll work with you to donate the mattress to a local charity and offer a 100 percent refund to your payment method.
Each Layla Mattress order comes with two free Layla Memory Foam Pillows, yours to keep even upon dissatisfaction. All products are made in the United States and ship to all 48 continental states for no added charge. You can expect your memory foam or hybrid mattress within five to six business days of ordering.

Other than their award-winning mattresses, Layla specializes in pillows, sheets, weighted blankets, frames, and other accessories.
Awarded Best Weighted Blankets (2020) by Sleepopolis, Layla’s 300 thread count, 100 percent cotton fabric will provide therapeutic comfort and aid in restless sleep. This weighted blanket comes in three different sizes and weights: twin (15 pounds), queen (20 pounds), and king (25 pounds). Filled with high-density micro-glass beads, Layla’s weighted blankets will stay quiet, and their hexagon quilting will ensure even weight distribution at all times.
Layla’s Bamboo Sheets come in every mattress size. Bamboo sheets are naturally cooler than cotton, and their softness will rival any high thread count cotton product. Each set of Layla sheets comes with a fitted sheet, one or two flat sheets, and one or two pillowcases. Varying counts depend on the mattress size.
